Shervin commenced work with Biwater in early 2000 as a team leader on a large MAPINFO project on behalf of North West Water.
He has detailed knowledge and working background in the use of MAPINFO and also in the organisation of teams of up to 6 staff. Shervin has been responsible for the training of fellow staff members in the use of Mapinfo and, following the successful completion of this project, moved the team on to a follow up contract digitising flood plain boundaries. He has also written technical instructions and procedures for implementation of Mapinfo into TXU Eenergi/United Utilities process on fault information gathering systems.
Severn
Trent Water
Shervin has worked as team leader and field test coordinator on network modelling contracts for Severn Trent Water, with key experience in the use of SynerGEE, PDLnet and Mapinfo. Starting work on network analysis projects for Severn Trent Water in 2002 as a GIS engineer, Shervin moved on through working as an Assistant Engineer, field testing and calibrating individual models, to working in his current role as Engineer, overseeing contracts delivered to STW from inception to completion, including data preparation, field work, DMA and trunk main calibration, composite model preparation and associated technical reporting.
Shervin was involved in a project to survey, pressure test, digitise and model the Frankley WTW on behalf of Severn Trent, with a view to utilising SynerGEE modelling to assist STW engineers come to decisions as to the viability of existing water pumps located on site, and whether they needed replacement or can continue service with refurbishment.
Anglian Water
Shervin has been involved with modelling contracts for the @1 Alliance, for Anglian Water, reporting on individual modelling scenarios proposed by the client to particular engineering issues and challenges.
Highways Agency
Transferring Shervin’s skills in asset mapping and surveying in the water market, he has been involved in producing custom Mapinfo tools to streamline the work undertaken during GIS phases of the Highways Agency works. Custom tools have been instrumental in reducing dramatically the number of man-hours required to produce GIS plans and associated data.

Damon Webster Engineering Manager
Damon joined Biwater Treatment 22 years ago as a summer student in the laboratory. Building on the hands-on analytical experience he gained in the lab in Heywood and on site, he moved into various departments in a forerunner to our Graduate Training Scheme. Being sponsored to attend University studying Chemical Process Engineering, he was a regular member of the various design teams, trying something new during each university vacation.
After graduating in 1994, Damon took up a junior process engineer role before steadily moving up the ranks, eventually uniting the process design and process engineering teams as Process Manager.
Currently, Damon has responsibility for all engineering disciplines across the country. With keen interests in both the technical and people side of the business, he has particular expertise in activated sludge processes, oxygen transfer processes & testing, hydraulic design and water chemistry. On the people side of things, Damon is particularly interested in Technical Risk Management, Knowledge Management and the cultural aspects of organisational change.
A big fan of great design, whatever the product, Damon has a particular interest in contemporary studio glass and ceramics. He also keeps fit running around after his two children and playing badminton.
